Dear Parents and Carers,
Firstly, I wish to say that everyone at Orton Wistow Primary School sends their deepest condolences to the Royal Family. This is a very sad time for the whole country and beyond, as we come to terms with the loss of a figurehead who has been with many of us our entire lives. Queen Elizabeth has been an inspiration to us all and a role model to many of our children. We began today with an assembly to remember her life, celebrate her achievements and share why she was such a special person. The children were amazing; contributing to the assembly, listening well and spending that time thinking of the Queen and her family.
It has been a very positive first week back at school and I couldn’t be prouder of the hard work I have seen from all the children. They have settled well into their new classes and by 9.00am on Monday, I was seeing children already demonstrating the learning tools, following the PRIDE code and starting the new year confidently.
The newsletter this week and next will be brief and just give out the key information that parents and carers will need.
I hope you all have an enjoyable weekend.
Kind regards
Mr. Marks
