Dear parents and carers,
As this is my first newsletter of the Summer term I would like to start by saying welcome back, and I hope you all enjoyed the Easter break. It was lovely to see how excited the children were when they arrived to school last Tuesday to see the new playground markings had been installed. They have been very popular and have added even more options for the children during break and lunch times.
Wellbeing and replenishing our energy levels
My assembly on Monday focussed on how we can find ways to help us re-energise throughout our time in school to get the most out of each day. I shared with the children what a typical morning in school could look like for me but how sometimes things can happen that mean my battery levels can already be low by the end of the morning. We talked about the things we can do to top up our energy levels and the fact that we can all find different things more effective. For me, making time to visit classrooms, be on the playground and avoid my office for a while works best. I asked the children to think about what they find helps them and maybe you could talk about this with them over the weekend.
Grafham Water Year Four Residential
Next week lots of our Year Four children will be spending three days and two nights at Grafham Water. I grew up just down the road from Grafham and spent a lot of time there. It is a great place to visit and when I went on this residential trip a few years ago, I had a blast! The range of activities is great, the accommodation and food suited everyone and the staff that run the centre are brill. I think it is great that we offer four residential at OWPS as it means if your child isn't quite ready for it in Year Three (Burwell House) they have a chance each year until they leave. I think Mr. Nolan is very excited about his first Wistow residential!
Have a lovely weekend everyone
