Dear parents and carers,
Welcome back to the final term of this school year! I hope you all enjoyed a restful Easter. The children all returned positively this week and have already got stuck into their new topics and units of work. In my assembly on Tuesday, I talked about 'Goals' and what we would like to achieve by the end of the school year. Some children shared their own goals, and they included wanting to earn a Reading Millionaire badge and wanting to make the most of these final few weeks before the Year Six SATs, which start on 12th May. It was also a good opportunity to remind the children of our 'Golden Rules' which are:
-
We always follow the PRIDE Code
-
We walk quietly through the school
-
We show respect to all adults in the school
-
We look after the school equipment and building
-
We manage our distractions
-
We don't become the distraction
-
We are kind
If you get a chance, you could test your children on these rules and see how many they can remember. You could also discuss the importance of each one and what our school would be like without them.
Year 5 2CanLearn
Always great to see members of our community in school, and yesterday we had a lot of Year Five parents/carers/family members join us for their 2CanLearn session. This was a DT based activity where the children had to make a Greek salad. We were amazed by how many of them enjoyed eating this healthy meal! Maybe one that will be added to their family meals at home from now on. Thank you to all those that joined yesterday.
Although this half-term is a short one (23 school days!), we will still fit a lot into those five weeks. Week one has been a good start and this term is full of things to look forward to. Have a lovely weekend everyone.
