Our School and the OWN Trust
Many of you will already be aware that Orton Wistow Primary School is part of the OWN Trust, a small but growing multi-academy Trust, which was founded in 2019 and includes the primary schools of Nene Valley and Woodston. As we launch the start of half-termly news updates from the Trust in our newsletter, we thought it would be useful to recap on the main aspects of the OWN Trust.
What are OWN Trust’s Values?
OWN Trust’s values of Opportunity, Work Together and Nurture create a supportive environment in which children, parents, and staff can flourish, whilst still maintaining the individual character of each school.
What are the benefits of being in a Trust?
The schools in the OWN Trust work together as a team to ensure the best possible opportunities for all the children. As the Department of Education states: “By working in partnership with each other, the schools within a trust can share staff, curriculum expertise, and effective teaching practices, and work together to deliver the best outcomes for pupils.”
How is OWN Trust Organised?
Behind the scenes, school leaders and those responsible for governance set the overall direction of OWN ensuring:
- high achievement and outcomes for pupils,
- sound and efficient financial management,
- high-quality resourcing,
- access to good professional development and support.
