Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome back to one of the busiest times of year in a primary school, yet one of the most enjoyable for many. I hope you all managed to have a restful half-term break, spending time with family and friends and hopefully recharging energy levels and making some autumnal memories. I know I certainly did and dare I say it, I am now thinking about the lead up to Christmas and all the events that are scheduled to take place. OWPS is going to be very busy!
Governor Visits
We have had a number of the OWPS Governing Body visit school over the past week, coming to see how OWPS is in action. Each Governor has attended with a specific focus to look at and feedback on, at upcoming meetings, but the comments many have made about the calm learning environments, children being ready to learn and politeness seen speak for themselves. Well done.
Anti-Bullying Week - Odd Socks Day (12th November)
Next week is the start of Anti-Bullying week. This is a nationwide event, where many of our school tasks, assemblies, think times and PSHE lessons will link to this as a focus. It is an annual event that aims to raise awareness of bullying of young people with a specific emphasis on prevention. This year’s theme is ‘Choose Respect’ which ties in beautifully with your PRIDE Code too.
We would like to invite children to wear a pair of odd socks on Tuesday 12th November, with their normal school uniform as a way of showing our support for this event. I wonder which year groups will have the craziest combinations!
Adult Lunches
We had a lovely bonfire themed lunch on Tuesday this week too, to celebrate Bonfire Night. Please remember that adults can book to come in and share lunches with your child/ren on any day of the week. If you would like to do this, please book online by clicking on the following link: Orton Wistow Primary School - Adult Lunch Bookings
Have a lovely weekend.
