    In Art this week we have been finishing our work based on the poem Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll. We took the role of the illustrator and created pictures for each verse of the poem, letting our imagination run wild with images that sprung to mind. We used a variety of art mediums to create our final pieces and presented them in our own mini concertina books.

    Our English is based on the book Varjak and this week we have been making decisions on what we think Varjak should do next. He must decide whether to leave the family house or stay put. The children really got into the role, writing words of advice for what they thought the right decision was.

    The Iguanas have been writing persuasive adverts to entice customers into buying a brand new Stone Age invention...a wall! Haven't those children done an incredible job!

    In the Giraffes class this week, the children worked together to create a role on the wall to collect some ideas, for a character description about Varjak Paw written by Lily Mehmed. They then wrote sentences describing his character and appearance.

    In Design and Technology we have been creating our Anglo-Saxon illuminated letters. We cut the letter of our choice out and used two different stitches to attach them. We then started to add some embellishments to finish them off.

    This week in ART we have been putting the finishing touches to our dragon eyes. We spent time choosing which colour we thought would look best and then spent an afternoon painting them. We are all happy and proud of what we have created.
