In the Nighthawks class this week, we have been researching crocodiles. We have been finding out lots of interesting facts, to help prepare us to write a non-chronological report. This all links to our current book Krindlekrax.
In the Nightingales English lessons, we have been reading Krindlekrax by Philip Ridley. This week we made predictions about what we think is going to happen next in the story. Here is a piece of Alex's writing.
This term in Computing, the Seals have been learning to code on Purple Mash. In this week's lesson we used everything we learnt in coding and started to debug any mistakes. Here is Aria's example of the 'Jumping Monkey' code where she discovered the mistake and corrected it so the code would work successfully.
In the Giraffes class, for English, Audrey has written some brilliant BOBS sentences (but, or, because, so) about Iron Age hill forts. She will then include these in her non-chronological report titled 'Maiden Castle'.
In the Nighthawks class this week, so far this term in English we have been reading Escape from Pompeii. Children have been using powerful verbs to describe what happens, as Mount Vesuvius erupts
In our English lessons in Year Four this week we have been working on our whole school moderated writing project where we have been writing a personal reflection on a sunset. Here is Harry from the Nightingales piece of work.
This week in French, the Year 3s were learning about different transport. Here is Jake's work, matching the French to the pictures and then writing a sentence to explain how he came to school Monday-Wednesday, using his previous knowledge of French days of the week!
In Art, the Giraffes have created their own final piece based on Stonehenge. They’ve used water colours to create a warm or cold background and added a silhouette of the historical landmark.
In Year 4 we have been learning about the Romans. We learnt all about Boudicca, drawing pictures of what she may have looked like, after listening to a description of her from that time. Then we delved into the reasons why she stood up to the Romans.
In Year 4, the Nightingales have been reading Varjak Paw by SF Said in their English lessons. In this lesson we tried to initiate the style of the illustrations from the book to draw a city scene using charcoal.
This week in the Seals Class, the children began their art learning for the term. We saw pictures of lots of different sculptures and discussed Barbara Hepworth's 'The Family of Man'.
Here are Titan's super ideas on the piece of art.
