Behind the Scenes at OWN Trust - The Board of Trustees
By Fiona Schneider, Marketing and Communications Officer, OWN Trust
This article aims to look behind the scenes at OWN Trust and find out how OWN Trust is structured.
Today, we are focussing on the Board of Trustees and discovering more about what it does.
What does the Board of Trustees do?
The main responsibilities of the Board of Trustees are to:
- Set the strategic direction of the trust.
- Hold senior school leadership to account for educational standards.
- Oversee the trust’s financial performance.
The role is voluntary and offers a meaningful opportunity for Trustees to give back to the community but also to develop skills and gain non-executive director experience.
Who is on the Board of Trustees?
The Board of Trustees includes:
- Mary Foreman – Chair
- Sally Williams – Vice Chair
- Stuart Mansell – Chief Executive Officer
- Steve Parrott
- David Perkins – Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee
- Ian Ramshaw – Chair of the Finance and HR Committee
- Mark Woods – Chair of the Quality of Education Committee
- Laura Holland
We are grateful to everyone who gives up their time to volunteer on the Board of Trustees as they play a valuable and impactful role in our Trust community.
