Schools in Residence - School visit
On Wednesday 24th April, the team from Nene Park visited Orton Wistow Primary School's forest area with big build plans.
Following on from the second day at Ferry Meadows, where the children had built animal houses - the team started from scratch to build a home for insects at Orton Wistow! A blue pallet.
Using their skills and knowledge, the children soon built a luxurious bug house. Different rooms created with pipes, straw, bark chippings and broken slabs. Could they do it? Yes they could! Role models from Bob the Builder and DIY SOS quickly adopted.
4 pallets, all filled with different materials to creat perfect environments for bugs and a bed on the top for planting.
This project can now add to the work happening as part of forest schools at OWPS.
