We do PE twice a week and children are expected to come to school in their PE kits on these days.
Children will need to bring into school:
- A bottle of fresh water every day for the classroom.
- Their reading diaries and reading books (Expectation to read 5 times a week)
At Home
As a school, we are really passionate about helping all our children develop a love of reading. To help us work towards this, our school expectation is that children read at home with an adult x5 a week. We check reading diaries once a week on a Thursday and children can work towards awards for consistent reading.
We also encourage children to practise their times tables regularly using Times Table Rockstars (www.TTRockstars.com). In Year 4, we learn the x6, x7 and x9 times tables. In Year 4 the children will take part in a statutory multiplication test. One piece of Maths and one piece of English homework a week is set on Google Classroom. Homework will be set on a Friday and be due on the following Wednesday and is aimed at recapping work that children have been doing in class or helping to consolidate key skills.
